Beta version — last updated September 2026.
What BudgetAIO is
BudgetAIO helps you plan your balance, recurring bills, income, and upcoming expenses so you can see whether you're covered before a bill is due. It is a planning tool. It does not connect to your bank, does not move money, and does not process payments.
Using BudgetAIO without an account
You can use BudgetAIO fully without creating an account. In this mode, the bills, income, accounts, and transfers you enter stay only on your device, in the app's local storage. We never receive or see this information — it is never sent to us.
Creating an account (optional)
Creating an account is optional and is only needed if you want your budget data stored and synced across your devices. To create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Authentication is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase; your password is sent directly to Supabase and is never stored on, or visible to, our own servers.
Financial information you enter
If you use BudgetAIO, you may enter information such as:
- Accounts you track and their current balances
- Bills — name, amount, due date, recurrence, and whether it's been marked paid
- Income sources — name, amount, and pay schedule
- Transfers between the accounts you track
- Optional notes, categories, and a website link you attach to a bill
This is the core information BudgetAIO needs to do its one job: show you whether you're covered for the bills ahead of you. It never includes your actual bank credentials, card numbers, or a live connection to any financial institution — you type it in yourself, and you keep it up to date.
Cloud sync and where your data is stored
If you're not signed in, your data lives only in your device's local app storage. If you sign in, that same data is also stored in a database we operate, hosted on Supabase, so it can sync across your devices and survive a lost or replaced phone. Access to your synced data is protected by account authentication and server-side access controls scoped to your account, and data in transit between the app and our servers is sent over HTTPS.
Notification preferences and app appearance settings are local to each device and are never synced or sent to us.
Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
During this beta, on Android, we use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. The events we explicitly log are limited to anonymous usage events — for example, that the app was opened, a bill was added, a month was viewed, or a sync succeeded or failed. Our logging code is built so that a bill name, amount, balance, income, account name, note, or email address can never be included in one of these events.
Separately from the events we choose to log, the Firebase Analytics SDK itself may automatically collect standard technical information — such as a device/install identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, and approximate location derived from IP address — the way most mobile analytics SDKs do by default. We don't expand on what the SDK collects by default, and we don't use this information for advertising. We don't sell it or share it with anyone except Firebase (Google), who processes it on our behalf to provide the analytics service itself.
Analytics is currently only active on Android; it is disabled during local development.
Crash reporting (Sentry)
We use Sentry to catch crashes and errors during this beta. Sentry is configured for crash and error reporting only — we do not use it for performance tracing or session replay. We actively strip data that could carry your financial information before it's sent: console output is never included, and the contents of network requests are removed from crash reports before they leave the app.
Like most crash-reporting tools, Sentry's standard error reports include basic technical context by default — such as device model, operating system version, and app version — to help us diagnose the problem. We don't submit your name or email address as part of a crash report.
Notifications
Bill reminders, paycheck reminders, and low-balance alerts are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device, using your device's own notification system. They are never routed through our servers or any third party, and no push token or device identifier is collected for this purpose. Because reminders are useful, their on-device notification text may include a bill or income name you've entered — this stays on your device and is only visible the way any other notification on your phone is.
What we don't do
- We do not connect to your bank or any financial institution.
- We do not move money, initiate payments, or pay bills on your behalf.
- We do not collect payment card numbers or bank account/routing numbers.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not run advertising.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not access your device's location, contacts, camera, or photos.
Who can see your data
Only you, and BudgetAIO as needed to operate the service — for example, to store and return your synced budget data, or to respond to a support request. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
How long we keep data
We have not established fixed retention periods for BudgetAIO data. Information stored locally remains on the device until it is removed. If you use an account and sync your budget, synced BudgetAIO data is retained until you request deletion of your account and synced data. Analytics and crash-report data are subject to the retention settings of Firebase and Sentry.
Requesting account and data deletion
This beta doesn't yet have a self-service "delete account" button in the app. To request deletion, email support@budgetaio.com from the email address associated with your BudgetAIO account and ask us to delete your account and synced BudgetAIO data. We'll act on the request. We have not established a guaranteed processing timeframe for deletion requests during the beta.
Uninstalling BudgetAIO or removing its data from a device does not delete data that has already been synced to your BudgetAIO account. To request deletion of your account and synced data, use the process above.
Your choices
You can use BudgetAIO entirely without an account. You can turn off any notification type in Settings. If you sign out of an account, you can choose to keep a local copy of your data on that device or remove it.
Beta status
BudgetAIO is in active beta development. Features, and this policy, may change as the app evolves. We'll tell beta testers about material changes.
